  3. April and 3/4

Tim and I made the trek out to lancaster saturday for the farmersville road race which I was really excited for…. cant really figure out why now but I was friday.

Lots of delays and tons of wind and by wind I mean tornado like gusts made for a pretty grueling day..

This was my second 1/2/3 race and of the 50+ starters 25 managed to finish. But it was nice learning the difference between being able to ride and actually riding smart as I ride like an idiot.

Sunday was the Lower providence crit

Mike brandon alec and I rode up for the 3 race together…

really wanted to get a break going as we have been pretty good at it the last few weeks but it doesn’t always work out…..

instead we strung it out made people hurt and took the top 5

alec came up with the win

Brett said the 1/2/3 was fast

Time for rest and then to start getting ready for summer stage racing and more road races!!!!!

  4. Crazy I cant believe april is almost over… its finally gotten somewhat decent outside just when i was getting used to the cold….

also nice to be able to ride the drives without feeling like i’m gonna throw up

Some local races happened been hovering in the top 10 feeling good about things to come. Battenkill happened that didn’t feel so good…..won some money.. people from cambridge are kinda weird….. still trying to find my way on a new bike has been tuff

Started working with a coach… cole oberman from breakaway is gonna be helping me take some of the guess work out of my training

6 points away from my 2

kinda going crazy about this girl because shes the best

Excited nervous to finally start racing against the fast guys

  5. Red Hook Crit 2013 was the hardest thing i’ve ever done on a bike… happy to have just barley finished

  7. SJSS WEEK 4 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yesterday wrapped up the south jersey spring series over in mullica hill new jersey.

There was some bike racing then a prime happened…. then a break formed…. then another prime happened… then someone won I think.

Michael Black from qcw took the win yesterday after being in the weirdest break. I chased him down for 4th and won some prime money so I can pay my pone bill. My teammate zach taylor decided to race his first 3/4 and came up just outside the top 10 but took 2nd in the field sprint.

  8. New bike day

I got a new bike last night and I got to ride it today… Ive never been more excited to wake up at 6 am.

Spent the rest of the morning cruising around south jersey with mark and a few familiar faces

and pastry yes cheese danish basking in the south jersey sun it ended up being pretty decent despite the unrelenting wind

and more just hanging out with one of my favorite people enjoying the weather and the view (^0^)

I love my new Cinelli built up by Frankles @ the bells bike shop…. looking forward to really putting it through the paces in the next few weeks.

Starting to get ready for batten kill…..

Finishing up the south jersey spring series tomorrow… red hook crit next weekend

    now sleep zzzZzZzZZZZzZzzZzzzzzz

    :)

  9. To think about how crazy everything has been the last 10 months and how quickly time has passed and how much i’ve been able to grow up into a happy somewhat productive person. I used to be so upset confused and miserable all the time about not knowing what I’m doing and consistently fucking everything up….. I’m just happy I was able to realize I’m not too good at partying and trying to “be someone” and that something as simple as riding a bike could change my life so much and put people in my life that I don’t know how I got on before with out. I don’t know it’s just a nice reminder when I’m feeling shitty  what things used to be like and how quick circumstances can change for the better if you can be posi and work towards something that’s bigger than yourself.

I still have a lot of growing up and stuff to learn and i’m still making stupid mistakes but being able to live with out being in fear of yourself is just different.

  10. Riding to Races

The Philly Phlyer was this weekend and has been something i’ve been looking forward to since I found out about the race back in November. After a stressful week of not getting to ride so much I wasn’t as excited waking up Saturday as I should have been but after getting down to memorial hall and seeing the overwhelming amount of people that had showed up despite the terrible weather was a pretty awesome.

Everything was surprisingly relaxed going into the first decent and coming into west river drive…. it felt like any other Saturday morning ride especially so being on the roads I ride everyday which was dope.

Bicycle therapy began launching attacks up until the first climb up strawberry mansion until josep mueller of kessina cycling out of nyc laundched and attack and I followed along with 2 other riders Brandon Knettle of qcw and Gerald Adasavage of bike therapy. Every one worked extremely well together with kessina directing and encouraging everyone and we quickly caught the mens collegiate B field that started about 5 minuets ahead of us in only the first 25 minuets of racing. After passing through them riding around memorial hall and back down to west river is where I think it began raining or hailing I’m not to sure.

For the next 2 laps we kept working together and then it began snowing heavy. on our last lap out of west river drive the cooperation ended. I couldn’t see anything my shoes felt like bricks and no one wanted to be at the front anymore. our last time up strawberry mansion kessina attacked and I gave it everything to hang onto his wheel. The two of us got to the top and I attacked on the downhill and rode solo on west river drive and got to ride through the arches of memorial hall in the rain sleet hail and snow by myself.

thanks tom for taking the video

It was really cold really really really cold

Next day was the crit around the bell tower at temple university and that didn’t go so well.

I met up with john clark and we spun around the park together before heading over to check things out. At least today it wasn’t snowing.

After registering and pinning we found shelter and watched twitter for milan san rimo updates.

    image

After hanging out and watching the collegiate a’s we lined up on what ended up being a pretty crappy afternoon. Bike races shouldn’t be held in north philly. After spending a ton of time at the front I flatted with 6 to go. After getting a wheel change I flatted again coming up on the last lap.

3 riders got away and finished just ahead of the pack but john was able to get the field sprint for 4th place and a little bit of money.

I was left with just enough time to get home shower and eat 5 double cheeseburgers before getting into work.

Really great weekend… riding your bike to races is amazing and I hope teams can keep throwing more local stuff.
